Outdoor backpacker Josh Brown has taken a leap of faith, buying a pair of hiking boots with a $300 pair of outdoor packs.
He’s been wearing the boots for about a month now, and he’s impressed with how well they fit.
“I’ve been wearing them for four weeks now, it’s not just my feet, my knees and ankles all have been getting better,” Mr Brown told news.com.au.
“The fit has improved a lot, and I’ve found I’m just walking with a lot more confidence and I’m actually feeling a lot better.”
Mr Brown said the boots made a huge difference to his ability to walk around the bush.
The boots were made by the outdoor gear brand Outback and are made from 100 per cent waterproof synthetic leather. “
For the last two weeks I’ve been walking around the country and the whole country is different, but it’s a lot easier to walk in the bush because you don’t have to take the same precautions and get that mud out.”
The boots were made by the outdoor gear brand Outback and are made from 100 per cent waterproof synthetic leather.
The brand says the boots are made to last, and are a “light weight and durable product”.
Mr Brown says he’s been using the boots since last August, when he bought the first pair.
He said he has noticed a difference in his health and wellbeing over the past few months.
“You can walk up a steep hill and you can still feel it, you can walk down a steep slope and it still feels like you’ve walked for years,” he said.
“So it’s really exciting to be able to be walking around with these boots, especially with my feet feeling really good.”
Mr Shaffer also uses the boots, which he said had been very beneficial in his training.
“Being able to do some sort of cardio, I’ve got to say it’s been a big benefit to me,” he told newscom.com, “I’m feeling so much better.”
The new boots are a big hit with backpackers, and Mr Brown is hoping to see more manufacturers making them for people who need them.
“If there’s something I can do, I’d love to see something made specifically for backpackers,” he added.
