NEW YORK — A pickup truck that flipped over and hit a tree on the side of Interstate 95 in New York City’s Queens neighborhood Saturday evening is expected to be fully repaired and will be sent back to the state to be repaired again.
The crash happened just before 8 p.m. on the highway near the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Park Avenue, where the truck was heading south on Interstate 95.
The driver of the truck, a woman in her 20s, was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition, authorities said.
The crash killed a bicyclist and injured another person, police said.
No arrests were made.
The driver of another pickup truck was taken into custody and is expected in court Sunday afternoon.
The incident comes just days after a pickup truck went off a bridge and into the Hudson River in Queens and hit several pedestrians and cars before coming to a stop.
A few people on the bridge were hurt, but no one was killed, officials said.
More to come.
