Former Raiders head coach Al Davis was awarded $5.3 million in retirement benefits after he retired from the NFL, his wife said Monday.
The former Raiders quarterback’s wife, Stacy Davis, was named the new chairwoman of the National Football Foundation.
She is also the chairwoman for the Davis Foundation, which supports the education of girls.
Davis retired from football in 2014 after a 14-year NFL career, but his wife, who is the CEO of the NFL Network, said in a statement she had no regrets about the decision.
“It was not easy for me to make this decision, but I know that my husband was the first person I called for advice and support.
He never gave up, and I know his heart is full of love for his family,” Davis’ wife said.
Davis said in his statement that he is grateful for the support he has received from the football community and his wife.
